Interim Pastor
Rev. Stancy F. Adams, M.Div.
In September 2004, Stancy was licensed to preach the Gospel under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Virgil Humes, Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Wayne, Michigan. She served as Sunday school teacher, President of the Women’s Usher Ministry, Director of Children’s Church Ministry, and Director of Youth Ministry. In 2007 the Lord moved her ministry, and she served as Associate Pastor and Director of Christian Education at Christian Faith Ministries, in Garden City, Michigan.
In 2011, Stancy received her ordination through Rev. Dr. DeeDee M. Coleman at Russell Street Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves as an Associate Pastor, Bible Study Instructor and Director of Christian Education. In June 2017 she graduated from Ecumenical Theological Seminary (ETS) with a Master of Divinity degree (Christian Education and Clinical Pastoral Education). While attending E.T.S., she served two years as President of the Student Council and on the E.T.S. Board.
Stancy is an Adjunct Faculty member at Ashland Theological Seminary. She is employed as a Chaplain at Corewell Heath (Formerly Beaumont Botsford hospital) in Farmington Hills, Michigan; Chair of the Board of Directors for Interfaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit; and Founder and President of Safe Sacred Space, a ministry for multi-generational women. She has worked as a volunteer First Responder at First Step, a shelter for women of domestic violence. She is Spiritual Adviser for Seasons of Life Ministry and past Assistant Secretary of the Council of Baptist Pastors of Detroit and Vicinity. She has served as Vice-President on the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength (M.O.S.E.S.), a non-profit organization.
